driveline swap?

Is it a direct swap to put 79 3/4 ton axels, transfer case and tranny into a 81-87 truck? How about the same 79 stuff into a 84 blazer?

I don't know about a direct swap but its close. Several people have swapped out 1/2 suburban running gear for the 8 lug 3/4 ton running gear with very little problems. Brake llines bolt up, drive line should bolt up. If not then you may have to do something to match the drive line to the pinion flange. Spring pads should be the same distance. I would measure things like I've mentioned before you start. I think you'll find most of it will bolt up. If the axles come out of a 1 ton then the spring perches will not line up and you'll need to do some fabrication work.
