TIP ! {fwiw}
.
Lightly melt the cut ends with a hot soldering iron. Those clipped ends can puncture skin without warning. Just make 'em nice and smooth.

Yes they can slice and dice, and that is a good tip.

I bought a zip-tie gun years ago that will pull them tight and cut them off flush in one quick easy step... no cuts and the tension is variable. Awesome tool!

Think I spent $25-30 on it, pricey for what it is but no question it would be replaced if it ever was lost or broken.

Re: Ron Francis Installed!!!

You said it was harder to install, why was that? Certainly looks better than the Painless.

Truck looks great BTW...

Re: Ron Francis Installed!!!

It was harder than the painless because the directions go more in depth xp
I knoow it sounds ridiculous but the directions are a little more complex which is good, but gets
confusing after a while.
but desertcat thanks for the comment!

Re: Ron Francis Installed!!!

very nice install. I've been debating whether to use Ron Francis, Painless, EZ wire, etc.. leaning towards Ron, thing is I've already ordered a harness for the engine bay from american autowire cuz I hadn't planned on rewiring everything, and i don't think i can return that due to their policy, but I really would like to get the full Express kit, did you have a pretty easy install as far as all the connectors & everything running through the firewall ? Not a lot of pictures on the Ron Francis site for it but I'm wondering what the back of the panel looks like or how you decided to hook it up with what comes from the engine bay..

All zip ties should be cut with flush cut cutters. When I worked in Telco central offices if you ever used regular diagonal cutters to cut zip ties they would kick you off the job site and dock your pay. Of course most of the wiring was held in place with a running lace of twine but that's a whole other story.

Re: Ron Francis Installed!!!

I have the same ron francis kit in my truck and I love it. I would do a ron francis over a painless any day of the week much less wiring all over the place to deal with. These go one circuit ata time and you can keep it very clean and neat
