intregate seat belt seat vs non-intregate

I am almost at that moment to buy bucket seats with center consuel. Should I buy intregate seat belts seats or not. i Know intregate set belts is easier to install but what about the space. Will these seats reduce the space between my big bellie and steering wheel?????? Please don't suggest to lost weight cause its not possible. thx

You may have to remove the gas tank and go to a frame mount unit if space is an issue. I seem to remember a thread which showed several applications fitted into the 60-66 trucks and many had the tanks pulled. You have a wider selection to choose from if you skip the integrated units....

Re: intregate seat belt seat vs non-intregate

The thickness of the back cushion is the most critical dimension if your steering wheel keeps moving closer to your belly (like mine does). Many of the late model seats are very thick. And removing the gas tank doesn’t really provide any additional leg room, unless you can tolerate having the back of the seat almost straight up and down. The upper portion of the seat back normally runs into the double wall just below the window before the seat bottom can move back into the area vacated by the tank. That open area is really only good for speakers or some time of storage.

I’d suggest doing a forum search on “seats” because there are dozens of threads on here, and look for a style that is compatible with your preferences and build style.

Here's one for example:

Re: intregate seat belt seat vs non-intregate

I might consider shorten the steering column.
or install the 3rd row seats from late model tahoe.

I just need space!!!!
