blazer bucket seats WIW
I have the original buckets out of the 72 blazer I just purchased I am thinking about selling. The driverside is basically brackets. The foam and cover are shot. Passenger side back is still under original cover so I would say it is reuseable and thebottom appears decent but may need some firming up. Only thing I may be keeping would be the passengerside floor bracket. I have a couple other pairs of seats but one of them is missing the floor latch bracket. I figure by the time you get new foam & covers they probably are not worth a boat load but I really have no idea.
Thanks Richard

Re: blazer bucket seats WIW
Thanks Tim,
would you say these seats have ANY value since the cusions are totally shot or would I be better to just trash them and sell just the brackets? Richard

Re: blazer bucket seats WIW
I'd say as long as the pans and all the metal pieces are not rotted they are worth at least $125-175. To do a top quality job,a feller should figure on new cushions anyway,IMO. Some seats are uglier than others and a better looking seat will sell quicker, but an educated restorer knows beauty is only skin deep. I had those seats at Carlisle and I heard a guy say,"If that seat looked as good as the other one I'd buy them". Well,I was thinking,"If that seat looked as good as the other one they'd be $450" . I sold a pair that had pretty bad rot in one of the pans a few years ago to an upholstery guy in SC for $75+shipping,just for donor parts. I think they ended up being $150 to him.

Re: blazer bucket seats WIW
I agree, they should bring $150-200. I've sold several sets from 69-75ish that were pretty ruff for $100-$200 for the pair.
I have a pair of 69-70 original truck buckets at the upholstery shop right now and I think my bill will be atleast $500 by the time I add covers. The foam was perfect in them too! |
