Rear Porterbuilt Dropmember help

Hi just wondering if i could get a little insight on how to set up the 4 link on my porterbuilt dropmember. I ordered the bolt in kit and got it in the past weekend and it all looks great. Ive come to find out the 4 links are now weld on at the axle and i thought it would be bolt on, now im trying to figure out how to set it up before welding the brackets to the rear end so nothing is out of whack when i do weld the axle brackets on. Guess what im asking is where should the rear end be relevant to the frame and pinion angle etc before i weld the 4 link brackets to the rear axle. Thanks for any help.

Paul-

Looks like you got sent the new updated version. We would be happy to send you out the older version and exchange it if you would like. My apologies for the confusion.

The new four-link has a spreader tube that connects between the four-link brackets that makes the bracket placement a breeze. Bolt the tube in between the brackets and then center the axle, set the pinion at zero and you're good to go. Here's some pics.... we will also give you a buzz here shortly to follow up.

Re: Rear Porterbuilt Dropmember help

Thanks Nate, always lik eyour speedy responses and information to resolve a problem. I just didnt know it was changed up to a weld on style and when i recieved it i was kinda bummed and didnt get to start on my dropmember cause i thought i had the wrong stuff. But you have cleared the confusion and i think to much stuff would have to be swapped out to go back to the older style and i already have all this stuff and i'll make do i just dont feel comfortable welding something thats cruical in the suspension with being being a novice as im still getting into welding. I'll get a friend to come to that part of just practice practice till im ready to weld them on till then i can just tack them on to get it going. Thanks again for the calls and the pics to see what needs to get done. Ive got a great product from you and great customer service to go along with it. Wouldnt have it any other way. I'll just add this to a learning experience step into building my truck and be able to stand back and say, Yes i did that. =)

I made some changes so that we could incorporate an inboard bridge assembly (for those wanting to run the widest wheel and tire combo). In order to make the kit interchangeable between the inboard and outboard, we needed to revise a few components.
