Last year I installed 2.5" drop spindles/disk brakes from ECE, finally getting around to working on the rear. I want to replace shocks and springs, but not sure how much to drop to match the front? I'm trying to buy a kit from CPP but they have told me 3" or 2". I thought it would be more in the 4" range?

As a general rule in these model trucks, 1" lower in the rear for level...

Since you've dropped the front 2.5", you'll want to install either 3" or 4" drop coils in the rear.

I used new stock-height springs with ECE 2.5-inch lowering spindles up front, then used their 4-inch lowering springs in the rear. I also used their upper shock mount relocators for the rear, plus their adjustable track bar. Here's a pic that was taken before I tore it down. In retrospect, take it down 5-inches in the back and it will be pretty level. I also had some rubber rake, with the 235-60-15's up front and 275-60-15's out back. If I kept it (doubtful) I'd take it down another inch in front, too. So, that would be a 3.5/5.0 drop if I did. ECE recommends that you also use their crossmember that gives more clearance for the driveshaft if you lower it 5 or more inches out back.

Look at the pix on their website for examples of different combos.

ChevLoRay, that reminds me, I wish I would have thought to replace the front springs when I converted to disk brakes. Hindsight!

I think the 5" drop makes sense, I will call ECE and see what they have, I am running close to stock height tires, the front looks pretty good to me for height, just want to not get too far off level. I added a couple pics to show before and after front drop.
