recovering my dashpad
ok guys, i was going to just buy a dash cover from lmc but i dont have 130 dollars, but what i do have is a gallon of bondo, spray adhesive and fabric and an imagination so im going to try and recover my dash, pictures to follow!!!!!

Good luck. Just a suggestion: when you reinstall the dash pad get some new clips from LMC or elsewhere (and maybe an extra one or two) so your pad will fit more snugly to the dash frame. Those clips tend to stretch out over the years and don't always grip very well.

so i put a skim coat of bondo over the entire dash! heres a picture
this is before i sanded it smooth. now im working on attaching the foam and the fabric today ill put more pictures up as i finish it! |

here it is with the fabric glued on, you can see where i got sloppy with the bondo, but all in all im very impressed and happy with it!
also still havent cut the holes for the ac vent and the trim |

Well I have two, I might gie it a try on one of mine. Ther use to be a guy on here that done a fantastic job. I tried to buy one his and he sold the one I had wanted. I tried several times to get him to make me, now I can't even get in touch with him.

it would be worth it to pull the fabric off and sand the bondo smooth.

Good advice. If you want the cover smooth, you need the filler smooth first.

Ya I'm starting to think that as well, I didn't think the fabric was going to lay on so smooth, might as well pull off the fabric and get it perfect!
