51 Feet of Fun in the Sun

I should need some special license for this rig OMG! Truck and trailer bumper to prop is 51 feet.

Holidaze start today and heading out to the cabin. Got the family, plenty of cool ones, the old guitar and some fishin rods. Gonna be a good one.

Re: 51 Feet of Fun in the Sun

Ha, got ya beat by a foot

With my 1 ton and the 28 foot enclose trailer (33 feet long including tongue) I'm 52 feet when in tow.

I don't even have an extended cab like you do or it would be even worse These old trucks have a horrible turning radius so I have to be carefull which parking lots I pull into.

Re: 51 Feet of Fun in the Sun

Here's a shot hauling something a few weeks ago. Not a sideways shot (don't think I have one) but you get the idea. The trailer dwarfs the poor truck 52 feet of look out here I come I've been from one end of the country to the other with this setup though and it pulls like a dream.

Re: 51 Feet of Fun in the Sun

These things don't have a turning radius, they have a turning orbit.

I hear ya.

Just driving the truck around by itself it won't make a simple 90 degree turn on small streets without using the other lane if I want to keep the tires on the pavement. People look at you like you can't drive, and don't realize,,,,,,It's the truck....The wheels just don't turn that sharp.

Pffff I don't even try a U-turn in the truck (legal here) but from a turn lane and even with 2 lanes to turn into,,,,I still can't make it

There was some random guy taking pictures of my truck when I was out fishing. My wife and brother in law were watching him wondering "WTF". So my bro in law asks random dude "whats up?" Random dude responds " Is this your truck?
Bro in law"no"
Random dude" Do you know how rare this truck is?"
Bro in law"no"
Randon dude"Well it really is and I love these trucks, hope you don't mind me taking some pics"

My wife, who doesn't get my truck, swears my bro in law to secrecy to not tell me about the random guy, she tells him it will go to my head and she will never hear the end of it. Sticking to the 'bro code' he tells me....

I'm wondering what he thought was rare? The fact that its a K/30 CC dually, or that its not riddled with rust and resides in Canada...

Re: 51 Feet of Fun in the Sun

Yeah, just like any other 1 ton, just doesn't have an extra set of back tires to buy

I use a load distribution hitch (not attached in that picture) which levels the truck out. Tows and rides nice, and the 502 doesn't break a sweat.

5th wheels are nice, but I didn't buy an original paint rust free truck to start drilling holes in.

Re: 51 Feet of Fun in the Sun

That is a sweet setup! Why have a new truck and spend all kinds of money when you can have one of these beauties! I guess you can drop a lot of money in one of these, but you would have one amazing truck if you put $40-50,000 + in one! (which is what some of these new CC Duallies are going for)

-Motornut, is that wood grain on your truck, love the old wood grain trucks! And love your 5th wheel!
