Let's see... I grilled a pork loin, made some hamburgers and hot dogs, and I'm gonna make a pizza on the grill tonight..

I put a half a quart of tranny fluid in the old girl.
It's too hot to let her out of the garage.

Re: WHat did you get done 7/1/12 edition

Swapped out my window regulators and put manual windows in my truck. Now they actually roll up and down without having to hold it on track and help them up lol. Also, after pulling glass out of 4 doors, I can say it's pretty easy now, just having problems putting the glass back in.

The regulators and motors were stock Delco parts from 1988 when that burb's doors I used were made!

Re: WHat did you get done 7/1/12 edition

Got all the new AC parts installed. Condenser, Evap, Dryer, Hoses, Compressor, and Orfice. Pretty much every AC part under the hood. Got it charged up and went riding around enjoying the cool AC. Still kind of missed having the Back Glass open but.....

You took power doors and made them manual? I need more info on this.

Re: WHat did you get done 7/1/12 edition

I finished my 2/4 drop last month. I rode on the stock shocks for 4 weeks and finaly installed the new drop shocks. 3 out of the 4 old shocks were trashed. I dont know if it is because of the drop or their age. It still rides like a truck but it is a lot smoother ride.

Didn't do anything to the truck today, but helped my brother work on his 78 z28 today. Replaced header gaskets and fixed some things wrong with the exterior. He just picked it up yesterday. It's got a crate 350 with a B&M Forced Induction Supercharger. He picked it up for only $4000! Only one tiny spot of rust on the floorboard.

I went out Saturday and started sanding my hood, then I woke up on the ground. The 104 Heat got me... I quit and spent the rest of the weekend in the A/C. No new work to report.

I replaced 3 out of about 15+ doors that got blown in from a Vehicle borne IED that struck our base in Afghanistan. It is amazing what 2000 lbs of HME can do! Definitely will knock you on ur butt!

Re: WHat did you get done 7/1/12 edition

I pulled the radiator, power steering pump, air conditioning pump and tranny lines from the C-10 engine... prepping it to be pulled. I also sanded the topper for my K5 Blazer and primed some body parts prepping for primer. it's been hot as hell the last few days otherwise I'd be getting much more done.

Been to just about every firework show that is close to us. My wifes bday is July 3rd so she always thinks all these explosions in the sky are for her. I did sell my 05 crewcab that everyone said I was asking way to much and to never expect to get close to it. So that makes me happy.

Re: WHat did you get done 7/1/12 edition

I had a very busy Saturday...installed wood bed, swapped out mu 670 street avenger for a 650 double pumper and tuned. also went through and checked valve adjustment. bed looks good and she is happy with the air/fuel situation. I will say if I ever do the wood bed thing again the bed will come all the way off the truck next time.

Re: WHat did you get done 7/1/12 edition

I am spending this month collection body parts...

I picked up some front fenders from a fellow board member, and I also located a decent tailgate on CL.

I am planning on having my truck painted in the fall. The gold color has grown on me some, so I am going to keep it desert sand gold (I may add a little more metallic flakes too it).

I have a question for you guys. What's your opinion about Gold trucks with Aluminum wheels? Does it look right or does it look funny? Anyone have pics?

Prepping the house for new carpet. Pulle dout a full truck load of 20+ years of nasty, 7 pounds of screws later the floor only creaks in a couple of spots (builder missed the joist on about 25% of the nails). Pulled all my farm equipment out of the weeds, gonna mow them. Started making rod bolt shims for my tractor rebuild. Keep finding more truck parts stored in corners - gonna have a big brn reorg at some point.

I hadn't driven mine in qiute a while either. I decided to clean my garage up, so I pulled teh truck out to take a load of wheels and tires to storage. After that excitement, I washed the truck off, just in time for it to rain. Dried it off, and put it right back in the garage. We will be driving it in our HOA's 4th of July parade. Looking forward to it.
