WTB Saskatchewan 1972 Truck Bench Seat

I need an original bench seat for my truck and I don't want to buy a whole parts truck to get one. I put 1972 in the header but from what I understand any 67/72 seat will work. I have a new cover ordered so am not concerned if the material is worn through but would like the foam intact. I am willing to travel for a few hours to get the right seat. Post a pic of what you have and what you want for it on this thread.

Thanks for the offer. I've looked, answered and posted want ads on Kijiji and all I got was people wanting $1000.00 for 200.00 junker trucks that have been laying around the back 40 for the last 20 years. If you come across a seat please contact me but don't go out of your way to find one. I'm heading to the USA mid July and coming back through Minot and your area at the end of July so if come across anything please let me know.

ok i will keep an eye out for one, you might want to check into the years on the seats im sure i read somewhere that certain year covers wont work with other years, how good does the foam need to be?

I'd replace the foam if I had to.

Thanks for the friend request, I accepted. A man I contacted about redoing the seat for me ( he declined as he is trying to retire) told me that all the from 67/72 were the same and that was what I'm going on cause he's been doing upholstery for over 40 years. I'll maybe put that question on the boards and see what I get for an answer.

perhaps member truckseats from the parts board could answer your question he seems to be knowledgable about these seats since he makes covers for them

Re: WTB Saskatchewan 1972 Truck Bench Seat

All 67-72 seats will bolt in. The only real changes came when GM switched from the seat back that folds forward to a fixed back seat assy. which were in the 71, & 72's.

Re: WTB Saskatchewan 1972 Truck Bench Seat

Thanks John for the info. My truck is a 72 and the seat folds forward and I assumed it was from an 80's truck but knowing the history of my truck it could very well be a 67/70 seat that was insatlled whe the truck was redone.

I actually have ordered my new black and white houndstooth ( like these pics) cover from Tim at Truckseats but I guess my question has already been answered.

There is a tired running -driving 72 on Kijiji for 900.00 near Eston and I just may buy the whole truck to get the seat, then part it out.

that redish looking one? do you ever bring stuff back from the states with you parts wise? and i can probably get you a bench seat for like 50 bucks so i dont know if youd want to buy a whole truck just for the seat then have to part it out to try and get your money back

Re: WTB Saskatchewan 1972 Truck Bench Seat

I believe only the 67-68 seats folded and when i went to put a new bottom cover from my 69 onto a 72 seat it did not fit. I had to reuse the 69 lower. The lower covers were different from 69-72. It may have been from a full foam seat difference? One seat was a CST and the other was a sierra...

Yes,its the bronzey-orange one in the picture beside the quanset. I know buying a whole truck to get a seat is the long way to go but after reading Erics post that might be the route to take especially seeing this old truck is a 72 and so is mine.

I do bring back stuff from the USA when I travel, in fact I am bringing back as set of box cross -sills and front box panel from Mar-K this trip.

Re: WTB Saskatchewan 1972 Truck Bench Seat

Did the previous post and then checked my other email and received an answer that the old 72 has been sold so I'm still looking.

Re: WTB Saskatchewan 1972 Truck Bench Seat

do you think youd be able to find an uncut ac dash? i wanted to find a decent factory ac cab but its almost imossible to find one up here so im just going to put an ac dash in my truck, im going to go with vintage air so the fire wall isnt a concern to me

im going to get some parts for my 80 gmc on fri so i will see what i come up with, if yu can find a dash for me when you go down to the states maybe we can make some kind of a trade
