Shocks for stock ride height 3/4 ton

I'm about to do a brake job on my Longhorn, and while I have it on the lift, I would like to replace the shocks at the same time. I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for a reasonably priced shock that would provide a good ride. The majority of the driving is done on roads in town unloaded, but is used to haul heavy loads a few times a year.

Thanks,
Zak

Re: Shocks for stock ride height 3/4 ton

My truck's SPID says "HEAVY REAR SPRING" ('72 C20 w/ rear leaf). I just want stock ride and height. Most of the parts stores websites only have shocks that say "except heavy duty suspension". Does this mean I need a different shock absorber?

Anyone have Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks on a 3/4 ton with the heavy rear springs?

I would suggest the monroe sensa-trac. I'm using them on my c10 and they work good. If you can get them for your c20 i would give them a try. They are softer when the road is smoother (less shock travel/activity) and firmer with rougher roads, etc.
