Cool Thanks, and a cluster question

Ok, so truck is running again...and I'm feeling great because I physically did it alone, but with you guys help/advice so for that I sincerely thank each and everyone who helped me along the way.

My dash lights are doing some strange stuff, when the key is turned to on position, they work. Even work with just the headlight switch on, but not with truck running. What am I doing wrong here, any advice with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Thanks, and a cluster question

Yeah, forget to say I checked all fuses, all were good. Except those in my alarm.

I can only guess but since you mentioned it has an alarm that is usually tied in to the running lights, there "might" be an issue there. Check for loose or bare wires associated with the alarm box.

Re: Thanks, and a cluster question

Thanks for the advice guys, def is tied in with the alarm.
Anyway, the alarm is a viper 350hv pos, it clicks and will alarm whenever I try to connect the 12 point main harness to the brains. The only way to turn it off is to pull the harness. Anyone have any advice/experience with alarms, as a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Thanks, and a cluster question

Is your truck a show truck? Are you seriously worried that someone will steal it? If so, have a professional car stereo/alarm shop have a look at it and get it right. If not, carefully pull the parasite wiring off of your wire harness and put it back to stock.

I had an older Porsche with a Viper alarm that the PO home installed. I had all sorts of electrical gremlins, and the Alarm never worked. Once pulled, no more gremlins.
