Heater Hose Question
I have a 72 C10 with Factory air and I have the heater hoses hooked in this way - I am running from the manifold to the heater core and then back to the top of the radiator - I see everyone here saying that it should run to the water pump. If so, what do I run from the top of the radiator?

It will work either way. If you dont use thr outlet in the radiator you put a cap on it.

The heater core inlet hose runs from the manifold through the heater valve to the lower core pipe. The core outlet hose runs from the upper core pipe to the water pump direct. The upper radiator hose runs to the T-stat housing and the lower runs to the water pump. Maybe I'm missing something but where are you hooking the heater hose into the radiator?

My 70 didn't have the nipple on the radiator whereas the 71 Blazer does, so I think either way is correct and year dependent. the Assembly Manual drawing is for a 68.

Just when I was going to say I had never seen one, a picture in my collection finally pops up. Interestingly it seems to come off of the heater valve and run to the radiator. Suspect that the inlet and outlets hoses are reversed though. With the side terminals it is a late truck. So was it a year change? A/C only change? Or limited to specific engines or assembly plants?

Here is the heater hose schematic from the Assembly Manual. V-8's with automatic are listed to have the radiator return but most of the ones that I have seen have AC in addition to V-8 with Automatic.
