Looking for lowered rear shock suggestions

My '96 SWB Stepside, has a DJM 2/4 static drop. It's been 10 years since it was done and I'm not happy with the way it rides in the rear. It has a tendency to bottom-out, or so it seems. I even got BellTech upper shock mount relocators to restore the angle of the shocks.

Right now, it has some sport truck shocks that Summit sells. It had Toxic Shocks when it was lowered. I don't remember how it rode with those, but I was not happy with the ride when it came back from CA. I used a pair of Monroes that were the right length, but just didn't offer any real cushion.

So, I'm wondering what you guys are using. I'd love to do away with the leaf spring set up and go to a 4-link and air bags. But, that ain't gonna happen soon enough.

Any suggestions?

Re: Looking for lowered rear shock suggestions

Monroe Sens-a-Tracs & KYB GR-2's are good, cost effective, gas shocks.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Looking for lowered rear shock suggestions

I have Belltech Nitro Drop 2's on mine. Its lowered 4 inches too. I had the DJM drop shocks before that and they bottomed out and bounced a lot. I love the Belltechs.
