Smile Another find in Texas

Hello to all, I know there's a welcome area to the newbies but this board seems more updated. I've been collecting and restoring VW's most of my time, but my haulers have always been Bowties. My next project idea was to do a short/fleet. One day I my backdoor neighbor was asking about my V-Dubs and I told him about my next project. Well he invited me to his garage and this is what he had all along, a 1966 C-10. He was the second owner and bought it at a local dealer in 68'. It even came with the original owners manual and a city map of El Paso of 1966 in the glove box. I knew I couldn't let this one get away. He really didn't want to get rid of it but finally decided. After a great deal, I finally found what I was looking for.

Good for you. Deals like this sure don’t come along very often. What a beautiful truck. Looks like the guy had some hot rod thinking. Is that a 3 speed shifter on the floor or did he change the transmission?

naw, he said he blew the in-line and put this 350 w/ 4 on the floor. I have the o.g. column and tree shifter for it
