anybody need a laugh/question also

So I decided to install my 501 kit in my 75 k20 this afternoon. I used the simple test from a thread on here somewhere to see if my 203 had been converted to part time. Went one click down from the seat and truck reved like it was in neutra when i put it in gear and hit the gasl . So dug into it today and got the tailshaft off and got everything up on the bench and took a look. Huh everything I just pulled out looked like what was in my kit. Someone had already installed the same kit I had and looks like they did a really good job. So after a minute of laughing and head scratching i put it all back together. Needle bearings are a little tricky. So my question is what do I have going on here? I got in the truck and shifted the transfer case and it really feels like I'm only getting 4 stops when I should be getting 5. So I'm guessing when I did my test I was indeed in neutral and not 4 high like I had though. So is this just an adjustment I need to make with the shifter or is something not right. Hope someone get a laugh out of this.

Yea I was pretty surprised. I'm gonna dig into the shifter linkage on the 203 today hopefully get 5 gears instead of only 4.

Re: anybody need a laugh/question also

Got all 5 gears again on my transfer case. Sprayed the hell out of the linkage first with brake cleaner then with some lube gel. The biggest problem was the linkage had a lot of slop in it. I put some washers behind where the clips hold the linkage on and it seemed to make a big difference. The metal bezel didn't wanna go back on without restricting 4 lock at the top so I left it off until I can hit it with the die grinder. Just happy its all functioning well now.
