Well were all off...its only going to be around 2400 HAHA!.
At least the guy is going to stop the hemorraging of oil from the cam sensor. I knew i needed to grab my ankles. Is the 4L60e just that much of a mother to rebuild? The same guy only charged me 600 to do a TH350. Guess i had coming. He said when he pulled the pan it looked like "metal soup". LOL... Posted via Mobile Device |

thats about right across the board for a trans shop. i used to run a mr transmission and couldnt take it screwing people. he cant shop around any now. they will charge him a reassembly fee or dissambly fee that willl make it smarter for him to get them to finish the job. if they will let you goto the dealer and get a trans and just pay them for install. might pay a bit more but 3yr 100k warranty and that is through GM not some trans shop claiming a nationwide warranty. PM me if you want more info i worked for a chevy dealer building transmissions for several years.
i only get $475 for a th350 and usually do 4l60e for $1500 and i pull and install. and all trans shops say looks like crap in pan!! and since wont come out of second gear its most likely 3-4 clutches or maybe a solenoid. prob doesnt need a complete rebuild. but they will charge you for it either way. |

Re: wifes burb went to tranny shop. who wants to guess what the bill will be? LOL.
Yeah it did seem really high to me. Ive used this guy before. He rebuilt a 350 for me for 600$ which didnt seem to bad. And hes about 65$ for oil and filter. He said a bearing failed and sent metal through the trans.
They also replaced the leaking gaskets on the back of the motor. I could have bought a rebuilt for around 1400 and put it in myself, but by taking time off from work i would be losing money compared to paying him 2400. So i figured why bother with it. Now ive gotta find a battery drain on this sucker thats been eluding me for awhile. Posted via Mobile Device |

Hope you didn't start on it yet. You can buy a brand new for less then $1650 and have it delivered where ever you need it for$75. I put a new GMPP transmission 4l60e. It has a 2300 stall. Best of all all new. Not rebuilt. New. Here's a link.
