Anyone Running Monroe or Gabriel Airshocks on their trucks?
my dad was telling me about how he used to have gabriel airshocks on his impala and he could put air in them and jack the back end way up or lower it down. has anyone used them and got any pictures of them on a c10 fully inflated?

Go with monroe Air shocks. They are on sale, and made in arkansas!!

They are OK for occasional use. However when you blow them up to carry a load the ride quality becomes rather poor. The factory offered them as RPO G66 Superlift rear shocks on coil C10s. Airbags are a much better choice due to their volume. My Vega GT wagon had Hijackers (PO installed) and were good for about two inches of max lift.

Air shocks are mainly used for a "load assist". If you air them up, they will stiffen the ride considerably. Air bags would be the way to go if you want to raise or lower your ride height comfortably.

I remember the air shocks. I guess that dates me. But agreed they will make your ride stiffer.

I put a set on my s10 for when I was carrying heavier than normal loads. like mentioned when empty it really changes the way it handles when they are pumped up.

I have Gabriels on my 68,C-10.When I bought it,there was an extra set included too.Truck always had a heavy camper on it.
I have a 57 Belair with air shocks.And a shock bar. And my 65 Caprice has factory "LevelAir" system.Vacuum powered pump under the hood and a leveling valve on the rear upper control arm.all automatic. And a 67 ElCamino with factory air shocks. I reckon I'm air shock poor! Mike.  /

I don't actually use them!
The 57 has low fenders in the back and the air shocks are to raise the rear when changing a tire. They ride really bad and can be dangerous when aired up to max! Imagine going around a sharp curve at speed and hitting a pot-hole.The rear will bounce you off the road! The Caprice and Chevelle were factory installed.The Caprice's being a pretty rare option. I have several sets of the shock absorber helper coils too.They're pretty useless too! I have these things because they all are out of style and nobody uses them anymore. You can find them on E-Bay if you have the patience to look and wait. Mike. /
