automatic transmission not engaging
I had my turbo 400 rebuilt a while back.finally got everything in.the problem i"m having is the transmission is not engaging.I had a transmission leak from the line that was dropping a bunch of fluid.I have tightened that up as well as the pan bolts.the vacuam line is running from the modulater to a port on my edelbrock carb.the sensor which i guess would be for transmission pressure is not hooked up.I topped the tranny up last week and left it after chasing leaks.so this morning i will start the truck and make sure the level is up.what else can i check for if this thing doesn"t move getting very frusterated.truck is a 1966 chevy stepside with a 350 and turbo 400 with b&m shift kit.thanks

but you are on the right track to hunt down your problem. it will always slip if you are seriously a leaker. also any vacuum leak to the trans will cause it to slip or not work. neutral switchs can problem sometimes. i assume you checked that linkage is working proper. closely inspect for any obvious problems. hth |
