60-63 vs 64-66 Fender to Cab Splash Guards

Over in the Classifieds an interesting question came up regarding the 'Closing Panel' - the splash guard that attaches to the front fenders to keep crap from splashing up on the inside of your doors:

Front Fender Splash Guard - Closing Panel
This keeps the water and mud flung from the front wheel from splashing all over your door inside.

I figured the fenders were the same, but Oddly though:
The rubber seal itself is listed differently by years 60-63 & 64-66

looks like the 64-66 rubber is wider at the bottom and a notch at the top?

I'm guessing it's the fitment against the cab that makes them different.
