What year did gm start putting the door pillar vent in their trucks?

Looked at a truck that was a 67 by the title and numbers on the truck frame but it had the door pillar vent so the cab could be a 71-72 as it has the front disk from a 72 they may had to use the cab because of rust or something. The cab is in very good condition!

I have them on the 72 trucks that we own but not on the 71's.

yea the frame front clip and bed for sure is 67 but the cab might be a 72 truck is in very good condition for only 1000.00 i might buy it, just trying to figure out what it is!

I believe it started in late 71...all 72's I have seen have it.

It started in 71 i believe. Not sure if it was a mid-year thing or if certain plants did it, but some 71s had it and some didn't. I think all 72s had it...
