Is this a cruise control unit?
Anyone know if this is a cruise control unit mounted on the D/S inner fender. It has the speedometer cable hooked to it and then another spedo cable running to the transmission. It also looks like there was a wiring harness plugged into it previously but it is long gone. I found a knob under the dash by the drivers left knee that goes nowhere and am assuming it was the controller/potientiometer maybe?
In any case I was going to sell it and have no idea where to start. I appreciate anyones input or knowledge. Mike |

Re: Is this a cruise control unit?
Yes,it is a cruise control. I'm pretty sure I've seen that type before. Is nothing left in the cab? All wiring gone? There would have been a servo to control the throttle itself,as well.

Re: Is this a cruise control unit?
There is a diaphram mounted very haphazzardly to the firewall close to where the oil line exits the cab. It looks like it pulls the throttle back when its engaged but it has a tear in the diaphram. Ill post a pic after work if youd like to confirm or deny mty chain of thought. I mentioned the knob under the dash but it only has 2 wires on it so i assumed it was a potientiometer for something else. The truck was pretty much untouched other than that.
What do you think its worth? I assumed it may be worth nothing or very little without the harness and having the diaphram split. Thanks for lending your vast knowledge, I really appreciate it! Mike |
