Post Chev Crew Cab 4x4 Info please..

Hi guys i live in Australia and it sux for many reasons, but the biggest 1 for me is that u are only allowed a 2'' lift in a 4x4 that is under 4.5 gvm, which is a joke.
I want at least 8''. road transport in aus don't really have laws about lifting trucks over 4.5 gvm.
so the info i want to know is how much is the gvm & tare for a 82-87 k30 long bed crew cab diesel & if any one knows what sort of mpg this truck would get?
thanks in advance for your help!
Kres

Mileage is going to depend on engine size, transmission, gearing and tire size.
Best might be around 12-15 to a bad of 6-7 mpgs

Re: Chev Crew Cab 4x4 Info please..

We call it gross vehicle weight rating or GVWR for short and curb weight is just curb weight lol. That link i found a while back on here i kept it because it showed everything offered and the weights. And btw gm did keep the old body style for the crew cabs tell 91.What are the laws about a engine swap over there?A lot of us put a 12 valve 5.9 cummins in these trucks and fords too.Its not a cheap swap but if you want big power its worth the swap.

yeh appreciate the help with that site. i cant seem to find the GVWR for the K30 Crew Cab, it has kerb weight only.... ?
Im not sure what laws etc are here about engine swaps but the standard motor will suit me fine.
I want to have the 6.2L diesel with 35" tyres so once again if anyone knows the MPG for the setup on that vehicle can you let me know, thanks

I found this http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=398295 about the mpg depends a lot on gearing and how you drive it you can get 5mpg or 18ish its hard to say a number same for everyone.
