Need help w dimensions of OEM NP205 skid plate
Hoping to get a Blazer/Jimmy NP205 skid plate to add on my K20 truck build. A member may have one for me but I need to confirm the dimensions. Can anyone with an OEM skid plate give me the dimensions? 8 x 14"?
Borrowed pic of plate attached to crossmember below. Thanks, Pete

Re: Need help w dimensions of OEM NP205 skid plate
Deadhead: just got back home. Mine is the same as Trevor's 8" X 20 1/4 ".
From the look of the photo it looks like the bold holes and the big hole and the bend in the plate look like a factory skid plate. |

Re: Need help w dimensions of OEM NP205 skid plate
These only came on K/5s. So,although OEM not original to trucks.

Re: Need help w dimensions of OEM NP205 skid plate
Knew that just trying to correct a GM "birth defect". I wonder why GM did not offer this on K series pickups.

Re: Need help w dimensions of OEM NP205 skid plate
I don't know, except the this skid plate was 1/2 of the package that included the gas tank skid plate n K/5s. It's like it was the first off road package. I actually prefer the aftermarket ones that protect more. With the 4wds it seems certain choice period correct accessories are just as cool as OEM,because it was common to see owners do such functional upgrades before the factory caught up to offering what owners wanted. At least to me they are. I have a set of Dual-Matic hubs I'm going to put on my '72 for kicks. I do have the originals in N.O.S.,but I use the truck. It's like a winch. They were never a factory option, but were offered in the Silver Book because they were such a common upgrade.

Re: Need help w dimensions of OEM NP205 skid plate
I'll search Dual-Matic hubs....don't believe I've seen these. My K20 lacked OEM locking hubs and when I got it had Selectro hubs, which have a cool vintage look.

Re: Need help w dimensions of OEM NP205 skid plate
Dual-Matics are different from any I've seen. They are all metal and don'y have a center knob. There are two levers. You flip them out of their keepers, give them a 1/2 turn, and snap them back in. My dad had a '62 Land Rover with them,so they are very nostalgic to me. They were also indestructible.

Re: Need help w dimensions of OEM NP205 skid plate
They also made some that look just like Selectros. Both are very cool and rugged. I like them both because they are different designs that are no longer used.
