None. The only 400 used was in the 2wd trucks and burbs and was actually a big block. (396-402)

Re: small block 400 in blazers

The "400" nomanclature was used on the bigblock trucks up through 72 because GM was too cheap to retool for a new emblem,,,that's what that amounts to Trucks with that emblem (up to 72) actually had a big block 402 in them. GM did the same thing with the car line too, since the 396 already had a following and SS396 sounds catchy (they even wrote a song about it) so a new 402 emblem for 70 was pointless.

The 400 sbc that you are referring to harley was also available in trucks and cars. The engine was first introduced in 1970 and was used in the bigger cars like the monte carlo, impala, etc...and it was in pickups both 2x4 and 4x4 throughout the 70's.

My neighbor bought a 76 short box 4x4 pickup brand new with a 400 sbc. I don't really remember seeing the 400 sbc much after that but my memory fades with age but I believe the 400 was no longer produced after 76.

My 71 came with a 307, but it's got a 407 in it now (400 sb punched 030 over with flat top pistons) This upgrade tends to make the world a very flat place, if you know what I mean.
