68 4x4 SWB $700 PA - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

The wife says I need to get this out of my yard. I bought it for the bed, but I don't see me getting the ambition to do anything with it. It has no motor (had a 350 in it). The bed is from down south. It is very nice (solid). There is no gate. Bedfloor (steel) is excellent (and tubs and front panel). The kid who had it before me put it into a ditch and took it off the road to fix it up and never did. The driver side bedside, back of cab and front fender have some road rash. The driver door is wedged shut. Other than getting a body man to pop this out and installing a motor, it would be a decent truck. The doors are decent. Above windshield is good. The cab corners/rockers are soft. I have a mint fender for the drivers side (and an extra hood, seat, grill shell, etc). It is a half ton w/ 3spd on the column (weird). It has lockout hubs in the front. White spoke wheels. Dual exhaust out the back. Manifolds, clutch, starter, etc. are all included. Just need a motor. Interior has a set of black buckets in it now. Manual steering/brakes. I have the title signed over from the kid. I will not take less than $700 for it. I will also include a complete running 350 from a 73 ambualnce for an extra $200. That's a 71-72 grill in it. Does the data plate on the door jamb match the title ? Is the frame 68 or 71-72 ? Are the front brakes drum or disc? Disc started in 71............Zoomy

If you look close at the pictures it appears to be a 6 lug.
Maybe it's just because I have a 21" monitor that I can count the lugs - LOL.

Its a 4x4 Robert, I think Zoomy wants a 71-72 frame with disc.

Do the 1/2 ton 4x4's all have 6 lug suspension 67-72? I'm so used to the half ton 2wd's that I completely forgot that the 4x4's are different -

He said it was a 4x4 & I can see the lugs, but I still don't know what frame is under it. If it's 68 I'm just barley interested. How come these deals are always 500 or more miles away. That always adds $200 or more to the price because of fuel etc...Zoomy

It is an original 68 (title/tag match). The kid I bought it from said it had a "slight resto job" at one time. They put the newer front end on it and the southern bed. So it does have drums up front. The frame is a factory short bed frame. It's a little soft behind the rear wheels. I forgot to add that I do have an extra set of doors that I would throw in just to get them out of my garage. Basically, come get the truck and I'll load the bed full of parts.
