newbie from florida

been lurking on the site for awhile now so its time to make it official. I had a 70 chevy sb for years. when my son turned 16 was going to give it to him. at that time he says he didnt want it.truck was high optioned. I thought ok so i sold it and put the money in my camaro. we ended up buying him a nice cavalier. skip forward 4 years and all of a sudden he starts thinking he wants a old truck??he decides the one he wants is a sbbw 64-66. so the hunt was on. found a pretty decent one form n.c. and had it shipped here.not quite as good as in the pictures but, ok.here are a couple pics the day we got it.already started the strip down. got the front clip off.look forward to continuing to see all the very nice trucks around here. very inspiring and great source of info

Re: newbie from florida

thanks guys, looks can be decieving. not a bad truck but not as good as I thought.plans are to keep the stock 283 and put a turbo 350 auto. behind it.just wanting to make it a decent reliable daily driver. already got all new front suspension parts just need to strip it all down and replace. and you guys probably know how the might as well while its apart snowballs.putting a set of stock steel wheels with center caps and small whites. and a slight lowering.I think I will start a build page. thanks

Looks fantastic! You might be a newbie to this site but looks you are well versed in welding and building trucks!
Is that a CT70 I see in the background?
Keep up the good work.
Very nice progress.
