Show me pics of your CPP perches and mounts

I ordered a set of CPP perches to use with the Transdapt motor plates and mounts (already on the motor). I found that the CPP perch was 3/4"-1" narrower than the mount I had, however.

So, I called Scotts back and ordered a set of the CPP mounts and plates. Come to find out, these are the same mounts already on the motor. How can this be? Is it correct for the perch to be much narrower than the mount where it connects? If thats the case, then only the transmission crossmember would prevent lateral movement about the mount/perch bolts.

Can someone take a picture of theirs for me?

edit: found a pic

Hmm... I guess that is how they go. I assumed they would fit snugly like sbc/bbc mounts.

You could add a spacer washer, modify the mount or modify the plate if its a real concern. My friend has a set in a box on a shelf. He bought them before he knew they were for 2WD and he has a 4WD...

Re: Show me pics of your CPP perches and mounts

My concern was that there was something wrong. Im still not 100% sure that they are supposed to be like this... Of course, being the knucklehead that I am completely forgot to call and ask them directly yesterday

Mine is a 2WD.

Re: Show me pics of your CPP perches and mounts

I used the CPP perches and their poly mounts. At first I used the Trans-Dapt adapters and found I had a hard to finding headers to fit because of where the engine was sitting. I replaced those adapters with ones that Hooker Headers make and they fit great. It moved the engine back enough that the headers fit great and gave me a little more room in front of the water pump.

This photo shows the Trans-dapt adapters;

Thanks for the pictures! Yours seem to fit very well. Are they the poly mounts? I found another picture of them and they seem to fit also.

Yes there poly mounts I bought them form CPP when I bought the pearchs. The motor fit better with the Hooker Header adapters then with the Trans-Dapt ones.

Good luck on the conversion.

Re: Show me pics of your CPP perches and mounts

Here are a few pics of both mounts.

This is the CPP perch with the CPP mount (rubber)

Im sure the ends will flex a bit when bolted, but there will still be slop

This is the unknown mount that was on the motor. There is a much greater ammount of slop

I can shim either one with washers, but why the heck would they build them this way? I'll give Scotts another call...
