I too, think a club for Chevy trucks is needed. I would suggest that all years should be considered (1900-2003 & up). The more trucks the better. I have seen some new trucks around, that are very nice. I do have some experience with the car clubs that I would be happy to share with you. Classic Chevys of San Diego meets in Kearny Mesa monthy. I mention this because you are more than welcome to attend our meetings just to see how we operate & also because we found that the location is centeral for most folks.

So let's just say that you guys get this club going. It's only members will be in southern california? Or state wide, or nation wide? I was only wondering, I would like to be apart of a truck club, but there is not much going on up here that I am aware of. So if you guys get this togeather, I would like to join. If I am not to far away. Good luck. Landon

don't really care for the "all years" idea, these trucks deserve better than to be lumped in with the new stuff that anyone can go out and buy... besides, you see new stuff all the time.

These years of trucks are generally recognized as the last of the true classic chevy trucks, so maybe a classic truck organization for 72 and earlier might work... just my .02...

Not to shut anyone out, but people with later model trucks can start their own club....???

I agree, I would like to keep it 72 and older, really just 67-72

First thing I'll start doing is to find a good spot for us to meet. Somewhere where we can show off our trucks, have a BBQ or something and then go for a drive. Maybe map out a cruise.

I would prefer to have it 67-72, but we can also benefit from older trucks too. Let's dedicate the club to 67-72 so that we have a base of those trucks. Hopefully we can get some people, maybe through this site, that are highly interested, not just in it to be in a club, that will help build a solid foundation of members. You can definitely count on me! I'm looking forward to cruisin' to shows with logo'd t-shirts. After we get the interest we're looking for, maybe we can set up a meeting to discuss where we want to go with this.

I have a little experience with truck/car clubs. Of course they were mini trucks and compact cars.

I am interested in any club where I can share extra parts, find out where to get the best/cheapest parts for my truck.

Beside I think it would be cool to cruise with several dozen other 67-72 chevy trucks. It would even make those street rodders (over the hill gang) take a second look.

BTW. Pomona is coming up on June 1st. La Mesa Car Show is opening on June 5th (every Thursday night).

Just let me know what I can do.

Jay

Smitty!

Been a while, how are you? The Monte's coming along, I've bought most of the parts needed and am going to take it to the body shop soon. How's Dale?

Jay-
I figure the first thing to do is establish a meeting place and date, what do you think?

Where is everyone at?? I am in the East County but willing to travel 20 miles or so to meet. Any hangouts or taco shops that people like, we could meet there.

What day works for everyone? Tuesday & Thursday night works for me. We could meet Saturday night at Balboa & Genessee (people used to gather there at a parking lot several years ago).

Date and location suggestions?? Willing to meet this week if it works for people. Would like to see everyones truck, may get me to fix mine up faster (I just got the spring bug to fix my truck after nearly 2 years.)

Give me a few days to look around for a place to meet, and let's hear your ideas of good places to meet and then we can pick one.

I'll start working on a tee shirt design.

Oscar,
If you're still looking for a bed when it comes time for me to paint the truck again maybe we can do that trade.

I have to work next weekend but the following weekend we should all meet. Maybe somewhere around Balboa Park or that In-N-Out.

Any place is fine with me. I will plan on meeting with everyone in a couple of weeks. Since you mentioned Balboa Park, I was thinking that we could meet right in front of the Auto Museum. Another place could be Boll Weevil's in Kearny Mesa. Keep us updated. Thanks !
