Headlite question
Anyone ever have this happen...I put a new headlite switch in my 65 gmc (it has been parked for about 10 years so I just decided to replace some electrical parts), and turned the switch on and the headlites came on...perfect. After about 10 seconds all 4 lites 'clouded over' inside and burnt out. Does that mean I have a short somewhere or just really old lites??

Re: Headlite question
i would guess old lights. check if globes have blown or if they still have power to them.

Re: Headlite question
I'm guessing the old bulbs had lost their vacuum. I had the very same thing happen to me.

Re: Headlite question
My guess is moisture due to loss of vacuum as previously posted. Ive had it happen on brand new bulbs as recently as 6 months ago. You can even see the filaments smoking when it happens

Re: Headlite question
sounds good. I did not want to buy new bulbs and wreck them if there was a wiring problem...I do remember seeing them smoke too.
