V6 VS V8 frame pads HELP!
I want to put a small block V8 into a project truck I have but it looks like the truck may have come with a V6 from the factory. Is there a difference between the frame to motor mount with a V6 vs. a V8 on a 1985-86 C10? I picked up a set of 1985 C10 350 motor mounts and no way they will fit to the frame mounts. I bought the frame bare and shortened it to fit under my 1958 Apache. I want to test fit the engine before I go any farther. I have been looking all over for pictures or info and can’t find anything. I hope I can just replace the frame –motor mount pads and move ahead.
Thanks Steve Picture of driver side frame pad and the new motor mount NO GO! or am I missing something? |

Re: V6 VS V8 frame pads HELP!
It looks like it is different. Just snapped this pic off my 78 c10 which had an INLINE 6 in this case it's just a matter of slipping the motor mount to the upper holes on that plate. It doesn't look the same as yours

Looks like the wrong plate to me, and its mounted to far back also. Go get a set from your local junkyard.
