Rear disc brake conversion ?'s

Hello forum world.
I have a few questions I think you guys can help me with. I have a 67 c10 and the front bakes are converted to disc, I now want to change my rear brakes to disc! How can I make this conversion Cheap and most Reliable? My lugs are converted to 5 lugs already! Also can I use used parts from a newer truck or car?
Thanks 67-72!

Re: Rear disc brake conversion ?'s

I'd give Captain Fab a ring!! http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=339280

CPP, POL, and ECE all make kits as well, but this is probably the most economical approach (i.e. YOU find the parts, he makes the brackets, etc) and it uses factory stuff primarily. Most "factory" rear disk kits/setups seem to be Impala SS or Cadillac-based.

I've purchased a booster bracket from the good Capt and can vouch for his superb mfg quality.

Hope this helps!

Re: Rear disc brake conversion ?'s

I converted my rear to disk using 95 caprice cop car rotors and 85 cadillac deville calipers. I made my brackets with a piece of 3/8" plate and two 7/16 20 nuts each. total cost was 285.00 check out my thread it under the builds called my 67 c10 build

Re: Rear disc brake conversion ?'s

sorry I gave you the wrong info on my thread but here is a link to it if you want to see some pics. the only mod I had to make other then the bracket was to either clearance out the rotor where it fits on the axle hub or mill the axle hub down about 1/32" I chose to use a die grinder and clearance the axle hub so when I change rotors in the future I wont have to modify it to fit. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...8&goto=newpost
