The goal is to stop using the wife's SUV as a work truck for little house projects.

The passenger side fender has some damage so there is a spare in the bed of the truck. The two tanks in the bed (from what I was told) are for the dual gas tanks but I have no idea where they are from and if they would work on the truck. Regardless, I won't be using them so they will see the curb side fairly soon. I am also going (eventually) to patch the side tank access panels. I am not sure if these were aftermarket or if they were just an option.

Enjoy.

Not a bad looking workhorse...

I would put the tanks on craigslist before I scrapped them. Always someone looking for parts for these trucks.

Just my 2¢ worth.

I agree, but I have no idea if they even go to these trucks and I don't want to sell them without knowing 100% they would work.

Those are probably the aftermarket tanks that were installed on your truck. The bed has the aftermarket doors for filling the aux. tanks. They were installed on the bottom forward end of the bed. The wide end is forward and the cut out is for spring clearance. If you have no plans of doing long trips or heavy hauling then they are probably better left off. I would definately put them on a board ad or CL. Even a free ad is better than a curbside trip to the scrapyard. Nice looking truck and a Cheyenne Super as well!

Re: 1972_buford now with photos

Thanks for the comments and photo.

I have no plans for long trips and it is a work truck to be used for hauling stuff to garbage dump when needed and house projects so I don't have to cut plywood at Home Depot and then finagled into the back of the SUV. I will post the the tanks and see if I can sell them first. I just don't want to keep them taking up space for too long. Thanks again.
