LENGTH of intermediate brake cable for SWB???

Does anyone know the exact length of the intermediate brake cable for a SWB? My truck is a '67 c/10 swb with a '78 motor and TH350 trans...if that helps??? I called NAPA and other places and they just mention the length they have, but I am unsure if it is for a shortbed or long bed. Thanks...

I will be removing my original one this weekend if you want a correct original length measurement. Mine is also a '67 C10 swb.

Exactly... well the parts manual lists the stock '67 115"wb intermediate cable as 94 3/32". But that excludes turbo hydromatic applications.

I just replaced mine with one from Brothers Trucks, perfect fit. At under $20.00 you can't go wrong.

Do you have a TH350 transmission; coil springs?? I'm not sure if those applications matter???

What application is that for then? Is it also for a coil spring?

What's their site? Is it SS or just steel?

Re: LENGTH of intermediate brake cable for SWB???

i have a 67 with leaf rear and th400 auto. i ordered one from lmc and inline tube's online catalogues and they were both too short. Inline tube will custom make you a length of this if you give them your measurements so i took a string and used it to make a meaurement duplicating the rout the cable should run on the frame. mine came to 95 1/4". they made one and sent it to me and it fit perfect. not saying everyones will measure the same as mine but this worked for me and if i recall it was fairly inexpensive and was made from stainles steel.

Mine is Coil spring rear. Originally 283 V8 with 3ott (3 On The Tree) manual trans. It currently has a 4L60E trans and it clears just fine so I wonder why GM would use different lengths with different trannys but hey they did a lot of weird stuff and many revisions over the years as well so.. I am removing mine this weekend no matter what so I will check the measurement and report back, This seems to be a pretty common problem from reading others posts.

Re: LENGTH of intermediate brake cable for SWB???

Here is my measurement I promised: 95" outside of ferrule to ferrule. Mine was in perfect working order and this would reflect the measurement by SS Tim. GM may have stated the measurement as an inside measurement which puts it right on the money or if they were going as outside measurement I would account 45 years of stretch for mine being a little longer. Either way there was plenty of adjustment both ways on the all thread from the primary cable. Hope this helps guys, Later
