Found This Awesome Shortbox 4X4 For Sale ( not mine )

This truck is for sale in the city I work in. It is a 76 with a 84 clip and trim. This truck has zero rust. It has at least a 6 inch lift. It has triple shocks on the front and double on the rear. Front and rear gusset supports on the axles. It also has a built 400 in it. The interior is spotless and looks brand new. The only scuff on the inside of the box is on the tailgate. When this truck was done it had one cab corner replaced with a GM piece. They want $15,000 for it. Thats more than I would ever be able to put down but it is the cleanest one I have seen in a long time.

That frame might be 76 but the whole body is 80s. Bed, cab, front cap.

Its nice, its clean, and you could easily spend that much to restore one yourself.
However, as noted it is pieced together from various different years.

Again this is not my truck. The funny thing is everyone is picking it apart for having different year parts but how many of your own trucks have every part from the same year. I have seen the the truck in person and I am more than qualified to determine if a vehicle is straight and rust free and not just slapped together. It seems to me the guy built it to his liking and that may not make everyone else like it but so be it thats the point of the hobby.

I have been schooled on part years now and have decided to stick to the 67-72 portion of the site. It's a little more mellow over there.

I was not trying to pick it apart, I agree 100% that it's nice. I was simply suggesting what the person may have done to it. I think what others were getting at is that the truck is not worth 15K for something that was built by being pieced together, and I'm not trying to say there is anything wrong with that. But for that price you'd expect the truck to be at least all original or close to it. Not trying to offend anyone or insult the owner of this truck but it definitely not worth the 15K he is asking for it.

I am not picking it apart...but YOU said it was a 76 with 84 front clip. I was only telling you if it was a 76, there is just more than an 84 front clip. Only trying to help you out...don't get too upset.

Although I don't like the front clip (my opinion), seems like it was put together with the best from the various years. Fuel door instead of cap, brushed dash and doors, etc. Wonder if it's a 10 bolt or 12 bolt.

I would never buy one pieced together like that, if I want a 76 I buy a 76, if I want an 86 I buy an 86. My guess is the guy had a 86 truck and slapped it on a 76 4x4 chassis or something. If you like it...buy it....I sure as heck wouldnt pay 15k for that

Compared to lots of trucks up here (including my own) I think it looks good.
