3/5 drop issues

installed the 3/5 drop from cpp, with new drop shocks and panard bar. Problem is it sits uneven now. It all sat even before I dropped it. 1 inch high on the passenger front and an 1 1/2 inches low on driver rear. Anyone else have this problem??

Re: 3/5 drop issues

I checked it and they seem to be seated right. Do you think if I mixed up the drop shocks it could do that. The only other thing I could think of is pulling the springs out and making sure they were the same. I really don't want to have to do that though!

Re: 3/5 drop issues

Try swapping the springs from side to side and see if that helps.

Good looking truck BTW

Re: 3/5 drop issues

I had a similar problem with my CPP front springs. I switched them side to side and the problem switched with the springs. After several attempts to find a problem with my installation or my truck I ended up putting a 1 inch rubber spacer under the spring on the low side.

regards

BTW nice ride!

Re: 3/5 drop issues

Bought and had installed the same 3/5 drop coils from CPP on my 66', no leaning issues here.

Re: 3/5 drop issues

I agree with Pops. One of the springs is not seated properly.

Re: 3/5 drop issues

Had a truck with cut coils once. Ride height changed periodically depending on how I went over the curb into the driveway. It could sit up in the bottom instead of in the correct spot.

Re: 3/5 drop issues

Yeah, I have the same springs from CPP. No issues here except the front sat to high and I had to cut a coil off the front springs.

Not to hijack, but Cody how was your ride after you did this, I also wanted a rake but I didn't want to sacrifice my ride so I raised up the rear.

Re: 3/5 drop issues

Well I figured it out but it's still uneven. I put the 2 old rear coils next to each other and one is bent down an inch or inch and a half. So I don't know if my trailing arm is tweaked or the frame or what. I think I'm gonna throw a spacer in to even it out. I would like a little rake but am a little scared to cut the brand new springs!

Well, it sit pretty close to the bump stops. I only have about 10 miles on it since the lowering. The ride is not to bad. Didn't even drive it before I cut the springs so I can't comment on that.

Re: 3/5 drop issues

I had the same issue, with the same kit...made a thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=526332 haven't found a reason for it, coil is seated correctly, nothing bent or damaged ( that I can visually see)

Re: 3/5 drop issues

Thanks man it's coming along. I just put a half inch spacer under the low rear spring. Now it sits almost perfect. I am planning on getting spindles too. Then a may put a 1-2 inch block in the back, along with a notch,to get the ride height I want.
