rear wheel tubs up front

i got my hands on a parts bed and dont need the rear tubs off of it. has anyone tried to install these on the front before? depending on how wide your tire is you might need to trim the but i sense some trimming is needed regardless. im gonna slap one up front tomorrow to see what is involved. i saw the 67cheby makes some bolt in cool lookin ones but i like doin things myself (no offense 67cheby yours look awesome!) let me know what you guys think or if anyone has ever tried this

Re: rear wheel tubs up front

I was reading up on this topic because I hope to eventually bag my truck and I want to retain some inner fenders up front because I dont want road dirt and stones kicking up into the engine. I found a good article from sporttruck.com and how to make custom ones that will allow you to keep that inner fender protection but still be able to allow for clearance when bagging. this is just what I have come across so far.

Re: rear wheel tubs up front

I mocked up a set in my 67 years ago & was planning on moving forward w/the idea when the appropriate time arrives. While trailer fenders (or fabbing some like in that article) would be easier, I liked the symmetry of the F/R tubs matching. There's a guy that has had his pics on here recently that put them in his square & they looked great IMO.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: rear wheel tubs up front

i only had about 20 minutes to work in the garage after work but i fabbed up a rough one that doesnt look too shabby. Its a little plain looking but with some more time i think they will look pretty cool. All i did was cut 7 1/2 inches out of the center and tach it back together. Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics. Let me know if anyone has some suggestions!!
