Clutch fan?
My clutch fan sounds real noisey when i take off.Almost like a big rig.Is this a sign that it is going out?I have no over heating issues.

Re: Clutch fan?
Nope. It's fine. When you idle, temps goes up so the clutch engages. If it does not stop at all speeds or after a few minutes of driving, then you should replace it. Next time it's hot, turn off the motor. Spin the fan by hand. It should spin freely. If you have to force it or it does not spin freely, it's starting to fail.
I ditched the stock fan for a 4.0 Explorer fan. It's lighter and has more fins on it. It's also more efficient. I noticed the difference with the A/C at idle and slow speeds. Follow my swap here: |
