Re: Best A/c Aftermaket product?
I have Old Air products in my truck and my dad's crew. however, I have heard alot of good feedback about the Vintage Air products. Your closer to VA anyway but neither one is cheap. the OAP work great for us, no problems at all with them at all, it helps that they are only 10 minutes from me if I would have a problem.

Re: Best A/c Aftermaket product?
I did a lot of research on a/c systems, and I landed on the Vintage Air Gen IV Magnum system. I had to install one of their universal systems into my truck, but they now have a Sure Fit system for our trucks. It works great, with fully electronic controls that tie into our factory deluxe heater controls.
See my build thread for more info. Mark (coolair) was a great help with troubleshooting and installation too. Click here for more information |

so far i like this one because everything fits in the stock location under the hood like the heater box.

Re: Best A/c Aftermaket product?
Does the vintage air have any provisions for outside air or is it all recirculated? Also can you use the factory air controls for it? I hate their space age looking controls in a classic truck. Iv also heard that most of the aftermarket will not blow as cold as a R12 factory system. That is disheartening if its true. (not trying to jack the thread)

Re: Best A/c Aftermaket product?
I have the vintage air genIV surefit for my 66,I havent installed it yet so I cant speak of performance,I am impressed with the quality of the components. It uses factory deluxe controls and that along with reputation is what sold me on it.I do think it is recirc only but not positive.Go to their websight and look at the online install manual to get a better idea of the unit.If you decide to go with VA PM Way2Lo2 and get a quote from him.He will do you right.Hope this helps.
