new member-79 k5 needs t-case
New member here. So I picked up a 79 k5 for $400. Really bought it to strip parts from for my 65 c10 but the more i look at it in the yard the more i want to keep it and get it going. The previous owners used it hard so im a little unsure of the motor and trans condition. My question is, the transfer case is gone literally, so what should i try to find to install in the truck as a replacement. Are there better years or should i just grab the first thing from the salvage yard and give her hell. This will be a trail toy for playing around the house. Thanks

there are better years but in my opinion if this is just a cheap trail ride go with what fits your budget

auto trans, 203
manual, 205. Or look for 1980 models for the turbo 350/205
