removing leafs from springs
been reading a lot about removing some leafs from the springs, has anyone done this and what does it do for the ride, handling and height. i am using all the stock springs but running front disc conversion and 10 bolt posi rear with disc. good or bad idea and if good what springs are removed.

The top photo is my 48 with leaves removed with 205-60-14 tires on 7 inch rims.
The second photo is the front spring under the 48 and a good indication of what will happen when you remove leaves from the spring. Plus it never did drive all that great with this setup although I put around 100,000 miles on it with the setup. |

That was a quick and nasty fix when I was putting the truck back together in Aug 1989 with the intent of driving it to one car show and pulling it back apart. Before I started working on it I rolled my daily driver pickup and totaled it and had to drive the 48 to work daily.
