283 stalls when hot

I have a 1966 c 10 pickup with a v8. 283. It sat in barn not cranked for 15 years. I got it running but it will cut out after about 10 minutes. Never fails to crank and run for 10 minutes after cooling down

What could be the problem? Could it be vapor lock?

I have replaced the plugs the coil points condenser and fuel filter.

it might be rust in the tank is filling up your filter, the suction of the pump is pulling all the flotsam and jetsam up tight and stopping the gas flow, when you turn it off and let it sit the rust particles fall away letting it run a while again.

I think Joe might have it there. Mine was the same way when I got it. Changed the tank and it would run for longer until I got vapor lock too! Lol. Got a carb spacer and the VL went away.

Hello new guy here,

Check if you have spark after it dies, that way you can narrow down your troubleshooting. It could be a Coil getting hot ( I know is new but you never know) vapor locking could also be the case.
