Rear Window removal
Iv got a sliding back glass in the truck now, but I want to go back to the original solid glass. Is there a way to take it out with our ruining the seal so I can reuse it, or would it be eaiser to just use a new seal?
Thanks fellas -Andrew |

Re: Rear Window removal
If you start at one of the top corners from the inside with a hook tool and apply pressure & work across the top you can lift it out as soon as the top and corners are clear of the pinchweld.

Re: Rear Window removal
Get a 1/2 garden hose, and starting from inside, pull the window rubber out enough that you can place the hose inbetween the cab and the gasket and continue to do this all around the top of the window. What this does is hold the gasket away from the cab flange so that you can just push the top of the window outward into the bed assuming you have someone outside to help so you dont drop window. This way you can save the gasket. But if the gasket is hard and dry/brittle, forget it, cut the gasket and replace.

Re: Rear Window removal
Thank You for that information.
I've got the solid back glass in my 67 now, that I really like. But have thought about replacing it with a slider for air circulation. I've just never seen one done with the small sliding window on a 67 until I found this site. Can you give me information where to find one? |
