Gto exhaust manifolds help
Have a 53 AD with a 5.3 I am trying to use factory manifolds. Tried stock truck they were about 2 inches too wide on each side. Bought some 06 GTO manifolds, they were about 1/2 inch too wide, already boxed the frame so I don't want to notch it. Anybody got any suggestions? Got plenty of manifolds I don't need! GTO manifolds look like they would flow super good but I don't want to notch.

Re: Gto exhaust manifolds help
C5 Z06 manifolds? Tri-Y design and fit a bit tighter to the block.

Re: Gto exhaust manifolds help
I got tbss, fit pretty darn good. Only thing I would change to is long tubes for performance if i redo the rest of the exhaust in stainless.

Re: Gto exhaust manifolds help
I have a 5.3 in my AD truck, with an S-10 Front clip, and if you are handy with a welder you can cut off the factory flanges from the cast iron manifolds and weld on a a different collector,(yes you can Mig weld cast iron if preped right) i used some steel v-band flanges and clamps and worked out good for mine, a person could also weld on a bend or elbow in a different position and put on a different collector on to be routed a little different to get you the clearance you need.
Just something to think about, |
