transmission questions
Howdy tall I'm New here and wanted to introduce myself and ask a couple questions. I have a 67 c10 swb my grandpaw bought new and I bought from him when I was 12. I need to know if an sm420 will be a direct swap for the original3 speed? Also what all will I have to change (hump, crossmembers, etc) thanks in advance

Re: transmission questions
bump-I think it will, but don't know for sure. You would have to cut out the hole in the floor and deal with the column at least.

Re: transmission questions
Howdy thanks for the reply. Is there much difference in a 420 and a 465 specifically where the shifter is located? It looks like the 420 shifter will come up WAY under the dash.
P.S. what part of Chattanooga are you in Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: transmission questions
You will need to get a bolt in high hump to accomodate the tall floor shift on the SM420.
The PO swapped my truck's original 3 speed for a SM465 and they just pulled the lever off the column and left it in the truck. I forget about it most of the time but every once in a while I look down and see the hole in the column and think it would be nice to get a floor shift column, but it's no big deal.
