Where did you get your 700r4

I'm getting ready to upgrade my TH400 to a 700r4 and I need some advice on where to get an overdrive. I've done some research online and found several sites that have transmitions available, I was leaning toward Bowtie Overdrive but I read their custormer support isn't all that good. My 65 has a stock 350 and is a daily driver so I'm looking for a basic trans any suggestions?

Thanks

I work with a couple of local shops for my transmission. If you're already running a TH400, I would upgrade to a 4L80E instead of a 700. Is Broadway Transmission still in business in York?

Re: Where did you get your 700r4

I found mine off local craigslist...freshly rebuilt with receipt, guy just blew his motor in his caprice, and parted the whole vehicle..i guess keep your eyes open..but take others advice on on 4l80e, esp if you plan on pushin some hp, or a fuel injected motor, cuz you can usually get a nice deal on a married powertrain..

Re: Where did you get your 700r4

I didn't buy a transmission from Bowtie Overdrives, but I did use their TV made easy cable setup. It was a quality product, and I had good experience with their customer service.

I picked up a later (post 1987 I think) 30-spline input shaft core on craigslist and had it rebuilt locally. I'd recommend shopping around as prices can vary a lot.

You wont regret going to overdrive!

I would talk with them about what you're goals are and what you're currently running. They may have something available for you, or get you going in the right direction. It'll be much easier working with a local shop.

Try Monster Transmissions in Brooksville, FL. Even if you don't get one from there they have some good info on their website.
