Ford dash in a square?

I can get a complete '95 tan dash from a Bronco for hella cheap.

Though I'd rather go with '96 and newer Chevy, basically it's welding in supports and attaching the plastics for this to work.

Any thoughts?

IMO that sounds like one of those mods that most people look at and go "what were they thinking"

Please refrain from using foul language around here. We spell the word F*rd here.

Re: Ford dash in a square?

Haha, I can't help it I'm an enthusiast! Honestly I wouldn't consider changing dashes if the idiot that had my Blazer prior to me had hacked a hole in it so big for the radio that I had to use a F*rd adapter thing and some black window sealant to make it even hold a radio. Plus I'm not sure I wanna get into wrapping a third dash pad in some kind of odd material just yet. Plus I have a set of fully metric gauges for a square I wanna use, so it's all about how much work I want to create!

Re: Ford dash in a square?

GO do it NASCAR style. Cut it all out and make an aluminum with the gauges cut inside

Re: Ford dash in a square?

I think a F*rd dash would be cool in a square.. I was thinking about a 87-91 style dash in my truck a few times, but I like the Chevy's the most. I'd never do it NASCAR style tho

Re: Ford dash in a square?

Depending on what is let of your dash, fit and weld a plate across the whole gauge pod and then custom cut it as you wish, locating what you want where. You could also use a sheet of plate aluminum and screw it in place.

Never heard that one before. My favorite is "Fa***t operated road disaster", but I don't say it too often because most of my co workers are die hard F**d fanatics and can't really take a joke like that.

Back to the subject tho...IMO with all the work it would take to put one in, you could build a custom one to your liking.

Re: Ford dash in a square?

Just kidding!

Personally, I don't think it would look that good. You can find dashes from squares anywhere, and they're not that hard to replace or splice in a piece you need. I actually have a dash that has a different chunk cut out of it, I could send you the radio section if you want it. You would have to do a little work to hide your welds, but it's very do-able.
