Noise that i cant find
I am not sure where to put this in the forms. When i'm driving my truck i hit the speed anywhere from 40 to 55 i start to hear this squeal squeak its not constant so i'm thinking it something that is rotating. I can feel it in my shiftier because it is a manual transmission 4 speed. I was thinking that it might be the clutch plate slipping but hesitant on changing it if that's not whats causing the sound. But like i said i'm not 100% sure its the clutch because it still engages when i drive but the clutch pedal seems to be getting a little harder to push in. Any ideas on this sound would be great I know its hard to figure out what it is with out really hearing what it is.

Re: Noise that i cant find
if you pull the clutch out don't look for anything, just replace it. same goes for anything else that easily replaceable while the trans is out.

Re: Noise that i cant find
when you change a clutch you traditionally change the throw out bearing , cut the flywheel (or replace it) and swap out your pressure plate.. anything less is a half a job.. its kinda like swapping out a timing belt and not replacing the tensioner ( and water pump if under the belt) on a rice car

Re: Noise that i cant find
I would say that it is probably the throw out bearing. As for stuff to replace while in there, keeping in mind a budget, just do the clutch and bearing. I have done several vehicles on the cheap and have had no troubles.
That said, on the dually I spare no expense
