sqeualing brakes
The rear brakes on my 1986 C30 sqeual at slow speeds, just before it stops. Its has new shoes, spring kit, wheel cyc. They are wagner shoes, the best they sell at Oreillys. Can not figure it out. Thks

"Squeal" (hi pitched) or "moan" (low growl)?
In either case, you may be able to help if you knock the ends off the shoes, so that the pressure is concentrated more to the center of the brake shoe. As Rusty mentioned, too, sometimes if the drums get "glazed" (ie, too shiney) or have just been cut (and have remaining screw thread type grooves) you can get into noise problems. K

Thanks for the input, the drums were not cut. I will have to pull them off again, the thing about doing that is they say to replace the axle nuts every time they are removed and they cost 50.00 apiece. There lock nuts that you drive a little wedge in, dont know why they say change them.
