Question on the Van Mirror verses C10 Mirrors.

Is the Van mirror and the "L" bracket that comes off the mirror the same as those used on our trucks?

Looks like only the heads and nut have the same P/N.

I wonder if the "L" bracket that comes off the mirror is the same? It sure looks he same

Based on my observations and the pieces I have...

The "L" on the van mirrors has a 3" leg and a 3-7/8" leg. The originals had equal length legs of about 4-1/4". The originals also had threaded studs machined as part of the elbow and used acorn nuts for attachment to the base and head whereas the vans were tapped for bolts. The originals were also plain steel vs. what seems to be a low grade of stainless for the van.

The van mirror heads were the same as the heads used on the 70 (or71) through 72. The difference in the early style head such as those that came on my 69 and the later style is that the early heads had the attachment bracket on the back of the mirror off center vertically and the later style had the bracket centered.

To avoid corrosion and move the mirror closer to the door, I plan to use the van elbows on my project, possibly with threaded stainless studs and acorn nuts just for appearance.
